What is Dr. Harwood Like?
I graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and am currently a fully licensed physician in California, specializing as a psychiatry resident in my final year of training at Mission Community Hospital, where I also participate in providing telehealth services for mental health treatment.
Specializing in OCD
Many people spend years wondering why their mental health treatment, whether through therapy or medication, hasn't fully alleviated their symptoms. A significant factor contributing to this is the lack of an accurate diagnosis for several years, which can severely diminish the effectiveness of treatment plans.
As a psychiatry resident, I have a particular interest in treating conditions such as intrusive thoughts, contamination fears, checking behaviors, mental compulsions, and treatment-resistant OCD.
I collaborate closely with ERP therapists across California, offering telehealth services when necessary, and I use medication only when it provides a meaningful benefit.
