Hi, I’m a psychiatry resident in the final phase of my training, and I am currently welcoming new patients for mental health treatment at a more affordable rate. Originally from the Midwest, I’ve made Los Angeles my home, and my lifelong background in music has shaped my therapeutic style. I believe that treatment should help people not only return to their lives but also reconnect with what gives those lives meaning. While medication can be an important tool in mental health treatment, I take a conservative and collaborative approach, using the lowest effective dose and focusing on maintaining a balanced, fulfilling life.
As a licensed psychiatry resident physician in California, I provide telehealth services to treat mood, anxiety, psychotic, substance use, and personality disorders with medication management and psychotherapy. I strongly believe in patient autonomy, and my goal is to equip you with the tools to live a healthy and happy life.
Dr. Harwood graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and is entering his final year as a psychiatry resident. He has experience in mental health treatment across all spectrums of mental illness, including emergent psychiatric evaluations, inpatient care, and outpatient clinic care. His expertise encompasses working with adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations, and he is also knowledgeable in providing telehealth services.
I provide telehealth services for psychiatric evaluation and mental health treatment in the state of California. As a psychiatry resident, I address a wide spectrum of mental illnesses, including obsessive compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, ADHD, schizophrenia, substance use disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and more.
As both a physician and someone with personal experience navigating mental health challenges, I understand that effective mental health treatment is rarely one-size-fits-all. My approach to psychiatry combines evidence-based psychiatric care with genuine human understanding, emphasizing collaboration, self-awareness, and sustainable growth rather than simply symptom reduction. I believe medications can be valuable tools when used thoughtfully, but meaningful treatment also comes from understanding the person behind the diagnosis — their relationships, creativity, identity, goals, and what gives their life meaning. With the convenience of telehealth services, my aim is to help patients feel understood, regain stability, and build a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.
